A Matter of Balance acknowledges the risk of falling and emphasizes practical coping strategies to reduce this fear. These strategies include promoting a view of falls and fear of falling as controllable, setting realistic goals for increasing activity, changing the environment to reduce fall risk factors, and promoting exercise to increase strength and balance.

El Programa de Autocontrol del Dolor Crónico es un programa educativo para participantes desarrollado por la Universidad de Stanford y ofrecido en comunidades de los Estados Unidos y varios otros países. Los participantes son adultos que experimentan dolor crónico. También pueden participar familiares, cuidadores y amigos. El objetivo general es permitir que los participantes desarrollen confianza en sí mismos para asumir un papel activo en el manejo de su dolor crónico.
